FAQs
Who are Moon Bottles?
Moon Bottles are a UK-based brand specialising in high‑quality insulated stainless steel bottles designed to keep drinks hot or cold for hours. We focus on durability, performance and clean, minimal design.
Where are you based?
We are a UK company, based in Britain and serving customers across the UK and beyond via our online store.
What makes Moon Bottles different from other reusable bottles?
Our bottles are vacuum‑insulated stainless steel, built to be robust enough for everyday use, commuting and adventures. We put a lot of care into temperature performance, leak‑proof design and long‑lasting powder‑coat finishes, and we avoid unnecessary gimmicks
Product & Performance
How long do Moon Bottles keep drinks hot or cold?
Our double‑walled vacuum insulation keeps drinks cold for up to 24 hours and hot for up to 12 hours, depending on the starting temperature and how often you open the lid.
Are Moon Bottles really leak‑proof?
Yes. When the lid is screwed on properly, your bottle is designed to be completely leak‑proof, so you can safely keep it in your bag. Always check the lid is firmly tightened before carrying it and the straw lid is pushed down. Get in touch if your bottle is leaking.
What are Moon Bottles made from?
They are made from 18/8, food‑safe stainless steel with a BPA‑free plastic lid and silicone o-ring. The plastic free flask is made from recycled stainless steel with a silicone o-ring and base.
Do Moon Bottles retain flavours or smells?
Stainless steel is non‑porous, so it shouldn’t hold onto flavours if cleaned properly. If you notice any lingering odour, a soak with warm water, mild washing‑up liquid and a little bicarbonate of soda usually sorts it.
Are Moon Bottles suitable for fizzy drinks?
It is not recommended for these types of bottles to hold carbonated drinks, like soda water. This is because it could forcibly remove the lid upon opening.
Can I use my bottle for hot drinks like tea and coffee?
Yes. Our insulation is ideal for hot drinks. Just be mindful that it will keep them very hot for a long time, so take care when drinking and keep away from young children.
Will my bottle sweat or form condensation?
No. The double‑walled vacuum insulation prevents condensation forming on the outside, even with ice‑cold drinks.
Use & Care
Are Moon Bottles dishwasher‑safe?
We recommend hand‑washing both bottle and lid with warm, soapy water to maximise the life of the insulation and exterior finish. It is not recommended to put these types of bottles in the dishwasher for cleaning as it could damage the insulation. The lids can go into the top drawer of the dishwasher.
How should I clean my bottle?
Rinse after each use and wash with warm water and mild washing‑up liquid. Use a bottle brush to reach the bottom and threads. Allow it to air‑dry, upside down with the lid off, preferably overnight.
How do I get rid of stubborn smells or stains?
Fill the bottle with warm water, add a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda or white vinegar, give it a good scrub with a brush and leave it to soak for a few hours before rinsing thoroughly. Repeat if needed.
Can I put my bottle in the fridge, freezer, microwave or on the hob?
No to all of these.
- Fridge/freezer: the insulation means it won’t chill effectively, and freezing can damage the bottle.
- Microwave: metal must never go in a microwave.
- Hob/heat source: direct heat can damage the vacuum insulation and exterior.
Is it safe to put milk or juice in my bottle?
Yes, but do not leave dairy or fresh juice sitting in the bottle for long periods, especially in warm conditions. Always wash thoroughly after use.
Sustainability & Materials
Are Moon Bottles environmentally friendly?
Using a durable, reusable bottle greatly cuts down on single‑use plastic. Our bottles are designed to last for years, and stainless steel is widely recyclable at end of life.
Are Moon Bottles BPA‑free?
Yes. All parts that come into contact with your drink are BPA‑free and food‑safe.
Can I recycle a Moon Bottle?
Stainless steel is recyclable. At the end of your bottle’s life, check local recycling guidance for metal recycling facilities in your area and remove any non‑metal parts first.
